Safety goggles are usually confined to construction sites or other similar places; however there are some unusual uses for your left-over safety goggles that you might not have thought of. So don't be too hasty in throwing them away before you've read the list below.

Safety in the Kitchen
Chopping onions for a curry, casserole or stir-fry can be a dangerous act! Bits can fly in your eye and you'll inevitably end up crying your eyes out. Stick on your safety goggles and you're good to go! They'll protect your eyes and leave you tear-free come the end of the process.

Fancy dress
If you're stuck for something to wear at halloween, or simply to a friend's fancy dress party, then fear not - you could use your safety goggles to go as a construction worker, a scientist or even a bug. If you paint them green (leaving a dot in the middle for your eyes) and paint your face green, your friends will be laughing all night long!

DIY
Again, DIY can be a quiet dangerous act; particularly if you're painting, sawing or sanding. Bits can easily fly into your eyes, potentially scarring your eyeballs and even leaving you partially/fully blind. This is where your safety googles can come to the rescue - be sure to secure them firmly around your head, and you'll be safe whatever the activity.

In the car
If you ever break down, and have to attempt some maintenance on your car, then having a pair of safety googles in the boot can be really handy. If you need to change a tyre or spark plug, for example, bits could easily fly up and land on your eyeball or sit in your eyelid. With googles, you are completely protected and could be on your way within minutes.
